Copy Filter/Settings from one clip to another - Final Cut Pro X

It's very simple and easy to copy filters and settings from one clip to another in final cut pro X.
It was added in version 10.0.6.

Step 1:

Select the clip from which you want to copy filter/settings/attributes.
Select Command+C (Copy)

Step 2:

Select the clip where you want to paste these settings.
Select Command+Shift+V (Paste Attributes)

You will get the screen where you can select what settings you want to copy.

Notice this menu at the bottom> If you don’t have keyframes applied to any effect, you can ignore this. If you DO have keyframes applied, this determines what happens to them.
Maintain Timing. With this setting, keyframe positions are not changed, they are copied to match the new clip with the old.
Stretch to Fit. Here, keyframe positions are adjusted based on the differences in duration between the original clip and the new clip. If the new clip’s duration is shorter than the original clip, keyframe positions are moved closer together, proportional to the difference in duration. If the new clip is longer, keyframes are moved farther apart.

Click on Paste.

It will paste the settings/filters that you selected on another clip.

If you want to paste all the settings/filters without selecting each and every settings individually, you can just press Option+Command+V or select Edit -> Paste Effects. It will apply all the setting to another clip.

Now what if you want to save these settings for later use in this project or for your next project. Now that's where i felt Final Cut Pro X should provide some solution to it. Here you can look how to save your settings for future use : http://goo.gl/8puvhr

Enjoy Editing.
