Hi,
This time i would tell you about Final Cut Pro X.
I have used this software since last one month and personally feel that this software is faster than Final Cut Pro 7.
Here i would like to highlight you few things about fcp x.
Dislike :
Feather : In FCP 7 we have option to provide Feather to the Cropped footage, that is directly available below the crop option, but in FCP X if you have cropped your footage than you can't apply feather to that easily, you have to apply masking which is very tedious job and also it's difficult to set the mask in your footage, you cannot re-size your mask i.e in fcp 7 once you applied Mask Filter than you have option to resize your mask but in FCP X it's fixed, once you applied the mask you cannot re-size it.
Bin : The bin structure of FCP 7 is better than of FCP X. In FCP X the bin structure is seriously very fuzzy. Once you add any clip into bin than by default it will create a date wise bin folder and put your file into that folder. So if you add lot's of different files than you will get confused where are they located in bin.
Like :
Stabilization feature is really awesome, if your clip is really flickering than Stabilization will surely make it stabilize to a high extent approx 80% of your flickering footage can be stabilized.
Color Correction : Now you can correct the colors in your clip easily it's really a good feature and it's available in the Inspector Window directly.
Real-time applying filters that is you can now see the output by putting your mouse over any filter, you can see how your clip will be look after applying any filter and if you didn't like you can put your cursor on next and next filter to see how your clip will look after applying filters and once you like any filter just double click on that filter and it will be applied.
Importing : Importing is faster than FCP 7, which saves a lot of time.
Exporting : Exporting is also faster than FCP 7 and you can now work on another sequence( Project in terms of FCP X), while rendering of another sequence(Project) is running.
Memory Utilization : In FCP 7, when i import M2TS files than it takes about 50+ GB, while in FCP X, if the files, that is M2TS files are of 20 GB than it would take less 20 GB and would give me the same result as it is in the clip. So lot of memory is saved and you can keep more number of projects in your internal hard drive.
Thank you for reading this post, this is not everything i like or disliked about fcp x, this post is written while currently learning or working on fcp x and will update this post as and when i like or dislike something about fcp x.
