This is very general problem occurring now onwards because all the video camera manufacturing companies did is they divided the meta-file(clip info) and clip. When you record any movie it will keep the info of the clip in meta-file(i.e. in clip info) folder and will separate the clip in different folder say "STREAM". So if you have recorded the long file of say 1 hour in an avchd camcorder and that also in full hd so it will take nearly 10 gb of capacity. Disk is made up of track and sectors so the clip is stored in different sectors and different tracks.
